Oman Neurology Conference

Oman Neurology Conference, organized by the Oman Neurology Society, the Oman Epilepsy Society, the Oman League against Epilepsy, Saudi Epilepsy Society and the Gulf League against Epilepsy was held from March 21 to 23, 2019 in Muscat. This conference is the first Oman neurology and epilepsy society’s conference, 1st Oman League against Epilepsy Society, 8th Saudi Epilepsy Society conference, 19th Saudi Chapter of Epilepsy conference and 5th annual Gulf League against Epilepsy conference. The opening ceremony was held at Grand Millennium Hotel Muscat under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Health.

This conference brought together experts in the field of Neurology especially in the area of multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica, and epilepsy who shared their latest discoveries, research, and technologies on the diagnosis and treatment of different neurological disorders with their colleagues and the academic community.

Dr. Abdullah Al Asmi, President Oman Neurology and Epilepsy Societies, said that the the conference shed light on the most recent topics in the fields of neurology especially epilepsy and Multiple Sclerosis. “The conference presented updates on pathophysiology, management issues and therapeutic interventions”.

He said that the conference attracted health professionals dealing with patients with various neurological disorders from around the region, along with internationally and regionally eminent speakers addressing the aforementioned topics. “It was a great opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the professionals in the field and share ideas on common issues related to patients care, education and research”, Dr. Abdullah Al Asmi concluded.
